bacteria
intimately adhere to the epithelial
cell membrane
and show effacement of
microvilli
. In
developed countries
they are associated with INFANTILE
DIARRHEA
and infantile
GASTROENTERITIS
and, in contrast to ETEC strains, do not produce
ENDOTOXINS.
